Sawiris Foundation Brings Together 1,100 Children from 14 Care Homes for the “Back to School” Event at ZED Park

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Sawiris Foundation, in partnership with Ora Developers, Star Care for Childhood Development, Majid Al Futtaim / Carrefour Egypt, and Samusocial International Egypt, organized its annual “Back to School” event at ZED Park in Sheikh Zayed City. The event brought together approximately 1,100 children from 14 care homes to celebrate the start of the new academic year through a day of entertainment featuring a variety of activities, games, and performances.

The event was attended by Dr. Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Permanent Undersecretary and Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Social Solidarity. The day featured a range of games and interactive activities, as well as artistic performances and the distribution of school bags and supplies. The event also featured a musical performance by Egyptian artist Mostafa Amar, who entertained the children amid enthusiastic participation as part of the celebrations marking the start of the new academic year.

The “Back to School” event was first launched in 2021, with approximately 400 children from six care homes taking part. Since then, the Foundation has continued to expand the event’s reach and increase the number of participating children.

The event reflects the efforts of Sawiris Foundation and its partners to provide children with positive experiences, support their well-being, and strengthen their sense of appreciation and belonging. Through recreational and community-based activities, the initiative gives children the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of the academic year in a positive environment, while highlighting the importance of collaboration between civil society organizations and the private sector in supporting children and contributing to an improved quality of life.
