ALEXBANK, part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group within the International Banks Division, announced the launch of Ebda’ Daily Current Account, its latest banking product supporting financial inclusion, building on the success of Ebda’ Savings Account, which recorded strong performance by effectively responding to the needs of new-to-bank customers and making a significant contribution to advancing financial inclusion, in line with ALEXBANK’s commitment.
Ebda’ Daily Current Account offers a competitive daily interest rate of 12% on daily closing balances starting from EGP 2,500, making it the first offering of its kind in the Egyptian market for this customer segment, which seeks flexibility, liquidity, and attractive returns on everyday balances. The Account can be opened free of charge, and without any administrative fees, through simple procedures requiring only a valid National ID. It also offers additional attractive benefits, including a 50% discount on the first issuance fee of the Inspire debit card.
The launch of the new account comes as part of ALEXBANK’s financial inclusion strategy, which combines product innovation, behavioral change, and customer centricity to create value for individuals, communities, and the wider economy by removing barriers to financial access and enabling inclusive economic participation across diverse customer segments. This reinforces ALEXBANK’s position as a leading financial institution that creates shared value by aligning business growth with meaningful social impact, in line with the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s vision.
In this context, Mr. Ramy Taha, Head of Retail, Wealth Management and Financial Inclusion & Deputy CEO at ALEXBANK, stated: “Ebda’ Daily Current Account reflects our strategy of developing banking solutions that are simple, relevant, and designed around how customers manage their finances today. The product is designed to unlock greater value from everyday balances, particularly for customer segments with dynamic cash-flow patterns, including remittance beneficiaries, by combining instant liquidity, seamless accessibility, and attractive daily returns in a single banking solution, contributing to enhanced financial resilience for individuals and sustainable economic growth at large.”
It is worth noting that ALEXBANK won the ‘Outstanding Marketing Initiative for a New Product – Egypt’ award last year for the impact of its ‘Save Your Money at ALEXBANK’ campaign, which promoted Ebda’ Savings Account, from the global financial intelligence platform The Digital Banker under the Global Retail Banking Innovation Awards 2025, affirming the Bank’s success in developing innovative banking solutions and raising the necessary financial awareness while addressing customers’ evolving needs.
