As part of its ongoing commitment to empowering children and youth and driving sustainable social impact, Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development has signed a new partnership agreement with Samusocial International Egypte, a French non-profit organization dedicated to support vulnerable children in street situation in Egypt.
The signing ceremony was hosted by the French Embassy in Egypt, witnessed by His Excellency Mr. Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France to Egypt. The agreement was signed by Mr. Jean-Pierre Trinelle, Chairman of Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation, and Ms. Géraldine Samir Tawfik, Director and Country Representative of Samusocial International Egypte, in the presence of representatives from both organizations.
The partnership supports a comprehensive program that is three-fold. The first focuses on improving living conditions and hygiene at two shelters. The second aims to develop future-ready skills through the establishment of two computer labs that will provide children from five shelters with access to basic digital learning. The third focuses on supporting early childhood education for children under the age of six, through the provision of appropriate learning environments, educational materials and the necessary support to foster their early development and learning.
Commenting on the partnership, His Excellency Mr. Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France to Egypt, said: With this agreement, Samusocial International Egypte and the Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation deepen their role as architects of opportunity for the most vulnerable, improving living and hygiene conditions in two shelters while expanding access to early childhood education and basic digital skills. Partnerships like this translate collective commitment into concrete opportunities for children facing poverty and homelessness, helping them build safer, more secure futures.
Mr. Jean-Pierre Trinelle, Chairman of Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation, said: “At Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation, empowering children and young people is at the core of our activity. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop their potential to have a better future. Our partnership with Samusocial International Egypte reflects our shared commitment to supporting vulnerable children and contributing to social reintegration”.
Ms. Géraldine Samir Tawfik, Director and Country Representative of Samusocial International Egypte, stated: “At Samusocial, we depend on partnerships especially with the private sector to offer an overall care to the excluded persons, in particular in strengthening their long-term prospects for social, professional and family integration. This partnership with Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation reflects this powerful shared vision of Samusocial. This project will not only provide the shelters with essential hygiene and educational materials for the development of the children; it also contributes in preparing each child in these 5 shelters for this long-term journey of reintegration.”
It is worth noting that the Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation relationship with Samusocial International Egypte began a few years ago through the sponsorship of “Les Printemps des Artistes, an artistic and charitable event organized annually to help street children and young women in Cairo.
